Our   Projects

GEM’s clients understand our investment and genuine commitment to utilising cuttting edge technology. Renowned for our experience in using both Low Temp and High Temp SQUID technology, high productivity and delivering quality results. With a professional workforce and reliable equipment fleet, we have the ability to mobilise quickly right across Australia.

GEM have been instrumental in the discovery of numerous quality deposits for various explorers including Nova Bollinger deposit and Jericho prospect. Our ongoing exploration surveys include the Gonneville Ni-Cu-PGE deposit, Mawson Ni deposit, Carr Boyd Ni-Cu project, Cassini Ni deposit and the Yarrawindah brook Ni-Cu-PGE project.

Greenfield and Brownfield Projects

GEM are working on numerous Greenfield and Brownfield projects right across Australia.

Our Geophysical services are currently highly sought-after due to the consistent quality and reliable delivery of targeted results that GEM provides, a trait highly valued by our clients.

Some recent GEM projects include:

KIMBERLEY PROJECTS

GEM have proudly been awarded the Master Services Agreement in 2024 for the 4th year running. GEM crews are currently diligently working in both the East and West Kimberley areas.

IGO has successfully consolidated a vast expanse of exploration tenure, covering an area of 15,255 square kilometres in both the East and West Kimberley regions.

The Kimberley Project is a significant undertaking with substantial potential for valuable magmatic nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide discoveries.

Spanning across a Proterozoic belt, the project is situated in an area known to host proven magmatic nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide mineralization, which notably includes the renowned Savannah Mine situated in the East Kimberley.

IGO has placed significant attention on the exploration of the Osmond Valley prospective area in the East Kimberley region. This particular area is the subject of an Earn-in and Joint Venture Agreement with Beau Resources.

The Osmond Valley stands out as a distinctive ENE-trending structural domain, situated to the east of the primary Halls Creek Orogen, setting it apart from surrounding regions.

GEM look forward to working closely with IGO again and contributing to another successful exploration season over the coming months within the Kimberley region.

WEST MUSGRAVE PROJECT

BHP Nickel West (ASX: BHP)

The Project formerley of OZ Minerals is located in the Musgrave Province of Western Australia and includes the Nebo and Babel nickel-copper deposits and the Succoth copper deposit. The area is highly prospective for nickel and copper and the West Musgrave Project can unlock this exciting new mineral province.

The mine which is said to have a life span of 26yrs is under construction. GEM have completed MLEM using HTS the survey around the proposed mine site to “sterilise” the area before infrastructure is built to ensure access to the resource. DHEM surveys further defined areas of the deposit.

JULIMAR NI-CU-PGE PROJECT- GONNEVILLE DEPOSIT

CHALICE MINING (ASX: CHN)

Located in the Avon region of WA around 70km NE of Perth near Toodyay. Gonneville PGE-NI-Cu-Co-Au deposit was discovered in 2020. It’s the largest Nickel sulphide discovery worldwide in more than 20 years and the largest PGE discovery in Australian history.

Julimar state forest exploration is strictly governed by a Conservation management plan approved by the Minister of Environment.

Gonneville is located on private farmland within granted exploration licences at the southern end of the interpreted >26km long Julimar Complex.

GEM have been conducting ongoing MLEM using HTS and DHEM surveys extensively for Chalice over the last 4 years.

EUCLA NI-CU PROJECT- SEAHORSE PROSPECT

BHP GROUP LTD (ASX:BHP)

This is a massive belt scale Greenfields project comprising 26 tenements along a 350km strike length for 13,000km2. In the shape of a seahorse it is located in the SE of WA in the semi- arid Madura province on the Nullarbor Plain about 500km E of Kalgoorlie. Straddling the WA-SA border

Rodona Shear Zone defines the boundary between the Yilgarn Craton (Albany-Fraser Orogen) and the Madura Province. This zone’s trends are similar to the Fraser Zone, which is highly prospective for mafic intrusion-hosted Ni–Cu deposits. The BHP Seahorse project is primarily focussed on intrusion related Ni-Cu and our survey is follow- up to the holes drilled at Hedgehog.

GEM proudly completed 3 years of ongoing surveys on this project.

POLAR BEAR PROJECT

S2 Resources (ASX: S2R)

S2’s holds the nickel rights over an area of 435 square kilometres to the southeast of the Widgiemooltha and Kambalda nickel sulphide belts. S2 retained these rights when it sold the Polar Bear project (comprising the Polar Bear and Norcott projects and the Eundynie Joint Venture) to Higginsville Gold Operations (now owned by Karora Resources Inc.).

Conductors were identified in a EM survey conducted by GEM, beneath Lake Cowan, a large salt lake, using the low temperature superconducting quantum interference device (“SQUID”) which can “see” more clearly through the conductive lake surface.

Two drill holes appear to have intersected the target horizon, which is the basal contact of the ultramafic, at the depths predicted by surface EM without intersecting conductive rocks that would explain the EM anomalies.

GEM conducted MLEM on this project and a Down hole electromagnetic (DHEM) survey to verify and resolve the position of these conductors to guide follow up drilling.

YARRAWINDAH BROOK PROJECT

Caspin Resources  (ASX: CPN)

Around 100 kilometres north-east of Perth, in the developing PGE-Ni-Cu sulphide West Yilgarn province, is where you’ll find the Yarawindah Brook Project. The Project includes a sizeable ground position of more than 400 km2, which is located about 40 km north of the location of Chalice Mining’s high-grade Gonneville PGE-Ni-Cu deposit.

The company has been active in the project’s exploration on a number of fronts, but most crucially, it made a substantial discovery at the area that is now known as the Serradella Prospect. Caspin is continuing to develop geological models for Serradella (and across the entire Yarabrook Intrusion) where mineralisation is now recognised to variably comprise Rh-rich lodes, Pd-Pt-dominant lodes and Ni-Cu-dominant lodes.

GEM identified a new Moving Loop Electromagnetic (MLEM) anomaly for Caspin north of Serradella using the High Temp SQUID.

FRASER RANGE PROJECT

GALILEO MINING (ASX: GAL)

The Fraser Range project covers exploration licences totalling 602 Km2 in the Albany-Fraser Orogen.

Galileo’s Fraser Range project is located across two areas – the northern Kitchener zone which hosts the company’s Lantern and Nightmarch prospects and the southern Yardilla zone, which holds the Empire Rose and Yardilla South prospects.

The project is well positioned within the nickel-copper bearing Fraser Range Zone, with the Nova Bollinger and Silver Knight deposits located between the two Galileo-controlled areas.

GEM conducted ongoing MLEM surveys extensively over 3 years for Galileo in the Fraser Range using the High Temp SQUID.
