Geophysical Field assistant
About the role
- 2-4 person team
- Operate geophysical equipment in line with procedures
- Maintaining high safety standards
- Daily project reporting using software packages
- In-field logistics and equipment management
- Ride/ drive survey vehicles to conduct EM surveys using GPS
- Provide regular and general maintenance to the vehicles to ensure the survey runs smoothly from start to finish
- Surveys have an approximate 2-3 week timeframe
- Staying on mine sites, in regional towns/hotels or in camping/ caravan style accommodation
- FIFO/DIDO from major cities or regional centres across Australia
Essential Criteria
- Work well with others as a collaborative team player, uses initiative
- Prioritise your own and others safety
- Physical fitness
- Able to pass fitness medicals plus drug and alcohol screens
- Unrestricted C Class manual driver’s licence
- Mechanical aptitude and vehicle maintenance skills
- Provide First Aid & CPR certificate
- Able to obtain a current clean National police check
Desirable skills and experience
- Current defensive 4WD training
- Quad bike/ ATV certification
- Experience in Survey, Geophysics or Exploration
- Electrical knowledge can be an advantage
